Course Overview

This Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care course is an ideal short course for anyone who would like to start to develop their knowledge and understanding about the adult health and social care sector. No previous qualifications are needed to join this course. However, it is recommended that you have some basic computer skills and also writing skills at a level 1 standard. Your dedicated tutor will be supporting you throughout this course and will be available for you to contact them via telephone and email during the course.

  • Skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care
  • Communication in adult social care
  • Roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker

How is the course assessed?

All learners will complete and submit one assessment booklet with written questions and answers by the
end of the course.

10 weeks

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification and no minimum age requirement has been set for registration.

Certification:

On completion of the course, learners will gain an accredited qualification and certificate from NCFE CACHE. .

It is recommended that individuals complete this course before progressing onto the Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness course. Or progression onto the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.
