Course Overview
The Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness course is ideal for any individual who is currently working in or who may want to work in a role that supports individuals. The course can be completed by anyone who is interested in developing their knowledge and understanding further about mental health. The course is centered on helping individuals to develop their understanding and skills around the causes, impact and management related to mental health. No previous qualifications are needed to join this course. However, it is recommended that you have some basic computer skills and also writing skills to a level 2 standard. Your dedicated tutor will be supporting you throughout this course and will be available for you to contact them via telephone and email during the course.

Course Content:
The course consists of a wide range of topic areas related to mental health conditions and will develop your knowledge and understanding on how mental health conditions can affect an individual and the services that are available to support the person.
For example:
- Understanding mental health
- Understanding anxiety
- Understanding phobias
- Understanding postnatal depression
- Understanding bipolar disorder
How is the course assessed?
All learners will complete various interesting written assignments linked to each topic area of the course.

18 weeks
Entry requirements
There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification and no minimum age requirement has been set for registration.
Certification:
On completion of the course learners will gain a recognised qualification and an accredited certificate from NCFE CACHE.
On completion of this course individuals can progress onto further courses related to their career aims and interests. For example, Level 2 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
