Course Overview
This Level 1 Certificate in digital skills course is a fantastic course for anyone who would like to develop an understanding of, and competency in digital literacy skills. The course is ideal for individuals who would like to progress into a employment role where digital skills are required. Learners who enroll into this course will need to have access to a personal computer, laptop or other digital device. No previous qualifications are needed to join this course. However, it is recommended that you have some basic computer skills or that you have already achieved an Entry Level qualification in ICT. Your dedicated tutor will be supporting you throughout this course and will be available for you to contact them via telephone and email during the course.

Course Content:
The course consists of a wide range of topic areas related to digital literacy skills. There is no requirement for a learner to undertake any work experience or placement to meet the requirements of this qualification. Those learners who are in employment can provide evidence from real-life situations. For those learners who are not in employment, the center will support the learners in understanding the work-based application of digital skills as noted in relevant units of the qualification.

- Find and use information
- Safety and security when using data and digital devices
- Communicating and collaborating online
- Using word processing software
- Digital career development
How is the course assessed?
All learners will create a portfolio of evidence which will contain various interesting assessment tasks
that will meet the requirements of the qualification.
Entry requirements
There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification and no minimum age requirement has been set for registration.
Certification:
On completion of the course learners will gain a recognised qualification and an accredited certificate from NCFE CACHE.
On completion of this course individuals can progress onto further courses related to their career aims
and interests.
