Course Overview

This BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management with Foundation Year is made to help you become prepared for a career within the tourism sector, specifically on the business side of things. This course brings a great insight into how to support the sustainable growth of an international industry which brings millions of jobs to people worldwide. This course brings a large variety of opportunities for employment upon course completion as well as for further education, with progression routes available.
With a focus on gaining theoretical and practical knowledge, in business management, strategy and many other transferrable skills, allowing you to thrive within this competitive field.
The foundation year will allow you to have additional time and support to help you to build your skills, knowledge and also confidence before starting a full degree.

When and Where:

This course has intakes available in September, January and June each year.

Classes are available in multiple campus’s across the UK, located in the cities: London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

The course is taught on several schedules, and we can help you to liaise with the university to get the right sessions for you, classes are taught on Weekdays, evenings and/or weekends.

How is the course assessed?

There are a variety of different assessment methods used within this course, including written examinations, reports, portfolios, essays, presentations and more. These are decided by the school (GBS) and are reviewed annually. These may change from time-to-time, in order to maintain compliance with the Canterbury Christ Church University standards.

Entry requirements

All applicants are required to be assessed by the admissions team, involving:

      • an interview – to assess listening and speaking skills
      • a personal statement – to assess writing ability

For applicants aged under 21, they are expected to achieve:

      • 80 UCAS tariff points of equivalent qualifications

If you are unable to meet these entry requirements, you will be considered on an individual basis.

For applicants aged over 21:

They are able to be considered on the basis of previous life/work skills development that would make them suitable for undergraduate study within this Foundation Programme

Certification:

On completion of the course learners will gain a recognised degree in BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management with Foundation Year awarded by Canterbury Christ Church University.
On completion of this course individuals can progress onto further courses related to their career aims and interests.

Funding

Funding is available for students on this course in line with the requirements of Student Finance England.

This includes the course funding – £9,250 per year
